Brenda Pfleger: BP_Production
I have comprehensive knowledge of both the history and craft of print production; initially hand-setting lead type and printing it on a letter press, then using phototypesetting and paste-up processes and now, employing Adobe Creative Suite products for projects ranging from corporate reports and brochures to vehicle wraps and signage.
I am particularly proficient with the more advanced elements of Adobe InDesign such as live indexing and footnoting for documents to be printed and/or presented online as PDF or e-book.
My emphasis on typography in graphic design has given me the skill to produce layouts with both precision and grace. I am very familiar with French typographic conventions, but alas not advanced enough in the language to proofread text.
From the often hectic freelance agency environments, I have developed excellent deadline awareness and time management skills.
Since October of 2017, I have been a freelance graphic artist in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, producing press-ready art files and/or web-ready files for various clients. Prior to that, I was a production artist for thirteen years at Karo Group Calgary, AB. From 1997 to 2004, I was a freelance graphic designer/artist in Calgary, AB. Projects have included design and production for print advertising, packaging, internet sites, multimedia presentations and exhibition design.
